PRISM


A prism is a solid with a uniform cross section in the shape of a triangle, quadrilateral or any other polygon. For example,

 
A prism with a cross section of a trapezium
Rectangular Prism (Cuboid)
Triangular Prism

In general, a right prism is a solid which has two parallel end faces of the same shape and size. Also its lateral surfaces are perpendicular to its parallel ends.
The formula to calculate the volume of a prism is as follows:

 Volume of a Prism = Base Area x Height
